NGP|IUFRO program

In September this year, all forest roads are going to Curitiba, for the World Congress of the IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organisations). The Congress will take place in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, from September 29 to October 5, and will be a great opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge, as well as to stay up to date on the latest research findings and trends for the future of forestry and forest research in all areas of the world.

It will also represent a major meeting place for researchers, stakeholders, students, and professionals in the forestry sector worldwide to come together. The New Generation plantations platform will not be an exception and will be present there.

NGP and the IUFRO Task Force on Planted Forests are working together since 2015, having been co-organisers at the 4th International Congress on Planted Forests in Beijing last October. Since then a joint NGP|IUFRO working group has been identifying main research lines to support the NGP|IUFRO Knowledge Program.

At the Congress, a set of presentations, sessions and side events will be the opportunity to share with the researchers and stakeholders the progress done, and further shape the ideas. It will be as well as a unique opportunity for a face-to-face work session of the NGP|IUFRO working group, held on the following week, at the beautiful Parque das Neblinas.
