The NGPTA, Arauco, CMPC and the Chile Forest Dialogue will join forces to organise a multi-stakeholders meeting in Maule, Chile, on the 8th of July.
This meeting will be the kick off for the development of a Forest Landscape Restoration project: the Fondo de Recuperación del Paisaje de Maule (Fondo Maule). This Fund will work with small private land owners, supporting them to diversify their land uses and create more resilient mosaics.
The Maule Region, is one of Chile ́s 16 main administrative divisions and the region hardest hit by forest fires. The 2017 fires affected around 280,000 hectares, or nearly a tenth of the total area of the region.
This meeting is an invitation for the stakeholders to build a common vision for Maule’s landscape and co-create a Forest Landscape Restoration project that will help to move from a vision to a reality.
This event will be in the Spanish language and will not have a translation available.
